We finished the 1st part of the Champions’ League with 9 points

Our performance in the Top-16 phase of the Champions' League has almost been confirmed, although 4 more rounds of the group phase regular part have to be played. Although we lost the last match this year with 29:38 from Veszprem, we are still in the race for the 3rd place that leads into the next phase. After 10 matches, Vardar is 6th with 9 points. We will play more matches in spring against Kiel, Porto, Motor and Montpellier.
The injuries do not allow us to be complete. We played against Veszprem without Kristopans, Kugis, Atman, Gorpishin and Gorbok. Nevertheless, we showed that with less mistakes and technical faults, we can achieve a better result.
Both teams scored 2 goals each in the first 2-3 minutes; Vardar drew twice, but they entered a bad period and Veszprem scored 7 goals in a raw. The reason were our technical faults, which the opponent punished with a goal. In the 10th minute, the result was 2:9 and we lost the rhythm. It was hard to annul such negative result. We had the support from the stands and the motivation coming from the bench.

We tried to reduce the goal-difference, and we had periods of good game, but we were punished for each mistake. Vardar had the last attack before halftime, but they did not use it and Nenadic scored for 15:22.
We had constant problems in defence, and besides Ghedbane, Kizic got a chance between the goalposts. The coach Eduard Koksharov decided to try with the young Gogov, who had his debut in this match. He saved 4 shots until the end.

We kept a difference of 7 goals until the 40th minute. Then, our players "lost their breath" and it was clear that it will be a big defeat because in the 48th minute, the result was 23:33.

There will be a break now due to the EC in January. We will play the next match in February against Kiel in Germany.
