Vardar will play for prestige and for a new record in the SEHA League

The regular part of the SEHA Gazprom League will finish tomorrow for Vardar with the last match against Nexe (17:45, SC Jane Sandanski). The red-black team are 1st and they secured placement on the F4 tournament long time ago. The F4 tournament will be held in Skopje from 13.04 – 15.04.
Vardar is ahead of a new challenge, and with a victory against the Croatian vice-champion, they will be the only team that finished the season with the biggest number of points and victories in the history of the SEHA League. Veszprem is the current record holder with 16 victories and 2 draws.
Our team played 17 matches, of which one ended without a winner and 16 in favour of Vardar. The red-black team is the leader with 49 points, and Nexe is 8th with 9 points.

Raul Gonzalez – Vardar coach
"We are motivated to finish the season with a victory. We are the favourites, but we have to prove that in the court. Nexe have quality and they managed to surprise some of the favourites in the past. Toward this match, we have to improve our game in defence, which has not been on the right level for some time."

Martin Popovski – Vardar player
"We are a bit tired due to the last guest matches in Serbia, but we will endure. We have a great motive to end the group phase without a defeat, which is certainly big success for us within this competition. After the match with Nexe, we will have a short break, and then we will direct all our thoughts toward the final SEHA League tournament that will be held in Skopje. Our priority is to defend last year's F4 title."
