Vardar ended the SEHA League regular part with a new record

Vardar is the first team in the SEHA Gazprom League that succeeded to finish the regular part of the season with 17 victories. They won the last match against Nexe with 29:25 (11:12). In addition, Vardar set the new record in the number of points won in the regular part of the SEHA League (52).

Now, the red-black team has to wait for the results of the last two rounds in order to find out their opponent in the semi-final of the SEHA League F4 tournament. Meshkov is the possible candidate, which was defeated by Gorenje at home. However, first they have to wait for the results of the matches PPD Zagreb – Dinamo Panchevo and Metalurg – Celje. Vardar secured its 1st place.
The current SEHA League winner had to put big efforts to win this match, and as usual, Nexe played good against the red-black team. When Vardar reached a lead of 3 goals in the 51st minute (24:21), it was certain that there will be no more turnovers and uncertainties.
In the 56th minute, first Cindric missed, but this ball went to the hands of Kristopans and he scored. With the fast goal of Greganic, Nexe announced a possibility for a turnover, but Dibirov scored. If Shishakrev did not miss, we could have reached a bigger lead. Nexe did not allow Vardar to make a bigger advantage. Due to a "passive attack" Gadja had to shoot, but the ball ended in the hands of Milic. This was the last chance for Nexe to make a turnover, because in the next attack Shishkarev scored for 28:25. To the risky game of Nexe, Vardar responded with goals, and Marsenic scored for the final score of 29:25.
Nexe played without pressure, but made many faults, and if they were more focused, they would have probably achieved a better result in Skopje. They had a lead several times in the middle of the match, but they were usually with one player suspended and played risky, which Vardar new how to punish.
