Slovenian player is new Vardar’s member

Next season, the Slovenian player Domen Sikoshek Pelko (21) will play on the pivot's position. He signed a 1-year contract with Vardar with a possible extension.
This will be the 2nd foreign recruitment for the 202 cm tall Slovenian. Last year, he played in the Austrian club of HC Bruck. He will be a replacement for Stojanche Stoilov and Sergey Gropishin.
He also played for the team of Brezhice, where he started his career within the youth categories. In 2013/14, he started playing as a senior in the team of Krshko, but he also played for its youth and cadet categories. Two seasons later, he was back in Brezhice, and he played half season in Dobova. He was part of the team of Trebnje in 2016/17 and after this engagement, he started his international experience. He is one step away from playing for the Slovenian national team. In 2014, he was part of the players' list for the summer Olympic games.
"It is an honour and pleasure when you can fulfil your dreams and get a chance to play for a European champion. I know that I will have to work hard and prove myself, but I know I will give my best. I am happy that I will work with the coach David Pisonero and I can't wait to start preparing. I come from Slovenia and the handball school of Trebnje, where Stash Skube also played, and I am sure he will help me to adjust to the team" – said Sikoshek Pelko.

As the closest destination to his home country, Austria enabled Sikoshek Pelko to play and be one of the best scorers in the team of Bruck. After one season in Austria, he is moving to Macedonia.
"Youth is the advantage for Sikoshek Pelko and we believe he has a potential to adjust to Vardar's game and system. Although he lacks experience, we recognized his quality and we expect he will confirm it by playing for our team. So far, many players that came to Vardar improved very fast and confirmed their quality. We are eager to start the preparations, as well as the new season" – said Davor Stojanoski, Vardar's Executive Director.
